The Early Career Professional (ECP) award was established to provide the opportunity to graduate students in Psychology, Psychiatry, Social Work, Psychiatric Nursing as well as those in psychoanalytic training to become members of the IAPSP for the purpose of learning more about Self Psychology and Intersubjective Systems Theory and to participate in their advancement and proliferation.

It means joining with a vital professional community of clinicians, scholars, and theoreticians who are at the forefront of the work first started by Heinz Kohut. Their efforts have given rise to contemporary, relational versions of Kohut’s theory.
